Department of Home science
Interdisciplinary subjects impart skills to students and uplift their knowledge qualitative.
Home science teaches the concept of better family living i.e. utilization of money, time, energy, management of stress, health and other resources in a scientific and technical manner
Home Science Department started in college from June 1999 with the vision:
- To develop good home makers which is the need of society.
- To bring awareness in community regarding health nutrition, child caring, and age carrying etc.
- To develop entrepreneurship skill.
Department have adequate infrastructure with sufficient well equipped laboratory with well qualified staff, satisfied students strength and good results.
The department conducts various curricular activities regularly.
Celebration of World Breast Feeding Week.
Celebrating of National Nutrition Month.
Regular Guest lecture on Nutrition, Health Awareness and sensitization,
Establishment of Diet Counselling Center.
Regular study Visits to various NGO’s and centers for enriching knowledge and skill development.
Entrepreneurship and skill development initiatives by the Department:
- Workshop on Tie and Dye.
- Paper Bag making Workshop.
- Cloth Bag making Demonstration.
- Making of Articles from waste material.
- Zardozi and Hand Embroidery Workshop.
- Department Organized state level Webinar on “Gender Sensitization”.
Future Endeavors
- To start Vocational and In-House courses in Home Science, Especially for Girls and Women of Khuldabad town.
- Certificate Course in Food and Nutrition.
- To organize workshops on Flower Arrangement.
- Arrange visits to industries and Small Scale industries for Entrepreneurship development.
- Zardozi and Hand Embroidery Workshop.
- Health awareness program will organize in remote areas.
